For security reasons, Abra will only support TLS 1.2 after June 16, 2018. TLS stands for “Transport Layer Security,” which is the protocol that allows digital devices to communicate over the Internet securely, without the transmission being vulnerable to an outside audience. PCI compliance standards require TLS 1.2 after June 30, 2018. TLS 1.2 is not supported by older versions of Abra and older operating systems, hence the need for an upgrade.
If you do not upgrade your device by that date, you will not be able to access Abra, and may lose any balance on your app. This is due to important security updates to our systems that affect older Android devices.
With the latest Android release, R134, we raised the minimum required Android version to Android 8.0. Users with older phones (running Android 5.x-7.x) will still be able to use their apps, and install R98.1 on their phones. However, they will not be able to access new versions of the app.
Here’s what you'll need to do:
- Make sure you have written down your recovery phrase.
- Upgrade your phone to a newer version of Android or any iOS device. Our app currently supports Android OS Android 8.0 and later.
