Custody:
When your assets are in custody, your assets are held by Fireblocks’ MPC wallet technology. Fireblocks’ security layers multi-party computation (MPC) cryptography and secure hardware enclaves to protect all attack surfaces and eliminate the reliance on a single security technology. Fireblocks’ multi-layer security has been battle-tested over the past 5 years.
When using DeFi based applications (dApp) for loans or investment products, your assets are being managed by the Fireblocks wallet but they are technically locked in a smart contract via the dApp until a transaction is signed to close the transaction (in the case of the loan, this happens when you pay back the loan or withdraw collateral from the loan).
What security measures does Abra have in place?
Your assets are held in a multi-sig wallet that splits the private key across multiple parties for security. Your account requires 3-factor authentication for withdrawals (login, authenticator, and email). Your assets are segregated in a vault that belongs to you. Title and physical custody of your assets remain with you (you can withdraw your assets at any time for custody or loans and within the relevant withdrawal windows for investment strategies).
How long will it take for my collateral to be returned?
Once the loan has been repaid your collateral will be returned to your custody account.
