*Be advised there may be a temporary disruption of deposits and withdraws from US banks, bank wire transfers and American Express between July 30 and August 29, 2019 as we make the system migration. We will have these services back online as quickly as possible, but please plan accordingly.*
You can add money to your Abra Wallet using the following Eligible U.S. American Express Cards: Any valid (1) American Express Consumer Card issued by American Express, (2) American Express Card issued by a licensed third-party licensed to issue American Express-branded Cards and (3) registered American Express general purpose reloadable prepaid cards* including American Express Serve® and Bluebird® cards.
American Express Corporate Cards, Business Card from American Express OPEN®, American Express Gift Cards and other American Express loyalty, award and promotional prepaid cards are not eligible cards.
To add money to your Abra wallet using your Eligible American Express Card, please do the following:

- Tap: '+Add Money' (now located at the bottom of your screen).
- Tap: 'American Express'
- Tap: 'Add American Express Card'
- Enter the information from your Card

Please note that a convenience fee of 4% applies when you add money to your Abra Wallet with your Eligible American Express Card. We will charge this fee based on the total amount of money added in the transaction.
The following limits apply when adding money from your Eligible American Express Card: $200 daily and $1,000 monthly. Limits are refreshed on a rolling cycle, meaning your limits aren't reset at the beginning of the day, week or month. If you reached your limit at 3PM the day before, it will not be reset until after 3PM the next day. If you've reached your weekly limit on Wednesday at 3PM, it will not be reset until after 3PM the next Wednesday. If you've reached your monthly limit on the 10th of June it will not reset until July 11th in this example (31 day rolling cycle).
(In addition, in some cases, a cash advance fee applies for a credit card load. This fee is charged by your credit card issuer, not Abra, so you should check with your credit card issuer for details.)
Currently, non-US American Express cards cannot be used with Abra.
*Prepaid cards require a positive balance before the card(s) may be added in-app.
Note: All American Express Cards will go through a review process before they can be used to add funds in the Abra app. During this review, your AMEX card will be charged $1, but the $1 will be refunded once the verification process has completed (the refund of the $1 can take up to 7 days). This review can take up to 24 hours to complete (excluding weekends and holidays). Some users may have to submit additional documents for verification.
